I believe until you are not married you are single: Katrina Kaif

Amid speculations of her break-up with rumoured boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor, actress Katrina Kaif says she is disheartened to read stuff about her personal life and feels that until one is not married, the person is single.

Ranbir and Katrina never came on record about their relationship. They were earlier seen together at each other's family functions, besides attending events and screenings. "It disheartening to read stories on personal life. You would rather like to read a breaking news that...we all have come to an agreement that Katrina Kaif is one the top five actresses in the world. I would want this to be the story," Katrina said in an interview here.

"I am like every woman, when you are working you want to be spoken about your career...your work. Every actor knows that their personal life will be spoken about, it comes along that way," she said.

The 'Bang Bang' actress has neither confirmed nor denied reports of her break-up. "I have said this earlier and I say it again...I believe until you are not married you are single. I am not married yet...I am not engaged as well," Katrina said.

Steve McQueen: Oscar diversity issue can be watershed moment

Years a Slave' director Steve McQueen hopes the ongoing controversy surrounding the lack of non-white acting nominees at the 2016 Oscars will be a "watershed moment" for the industry.  McQueen becomes the latest top star to join the debate over the lack of inclusion at the 88th Oscar Awards. "Hopefully, when people look back at this in 20 years, it'll be like seeing that David Bowie clip in 1983."

McQueen became the first, and currently the only, black director to win a best picture Oscar when '12 Years a Slave' took home the gold in 2014. Lupita Nyong'o also won best supporting actress for her role in the film. In the two years since, however, all the nominees in the Oscars' acting categories have been white. Continuing to use MTV as a comparison, McQueen said, "This is exactly like MTV was in the 1980s. Could you imagine now if MTV only showed music videos by a majority of white people, then after 11 o'clock it showed a majority of black people? Could you imagine that happening now? It's the same situation happening in the movies." McQueen doesn't blame the Academy alone, though, which recently announced a sweeping reform of its membership policies to allow for a more diverse membership. The "real battle" lies in the movies that hit theaters, the filmmaker said. "One could talk about percentages of certain people who are Academy members and the demographics and so forth, but the real issue is movies being made," he said. "Decisions being made by heads of studios, TV companies and cable companies about what is and is not being made. That is the start. That is the root of the problem,"

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan, who kicked a huge controversy over the intolerance issue last year, said on Monday he had no plans to leave India and he can’t live more than two weeks out of the country.
“I love my country, I was born here and I will die here. I have never thought of leaving India and will never take such a step,” Aamir told reporters while celebrating the 10th anniversary event of ‘Rang de Basanti’ in Mumbai.
“I never said India is intolerant or I want to leave the country... these two things have been said to everyone. So, obviously, people will get hurt and I understand their emotions. I am not surprised they are angry with me. But, there is no truth to this all...,” the 50-year-old actor said.
